Mo-Kan Elite 62 Texas D1 Ambassadors-San Antonio 61
The game was an up and down affair in the first half. Uncharacteristically the D1 Ambassadors took many ill advised shots, taking over 15 three point shots. The shots themselves were not necessarily bad but Texas D1 completely abandoned attacking the basket likely because of the superior Mo-Kan size. Conversely Mo-Kan did an excellent job of attacking the rim and got the D1 Ambassador team in early foul trouble and forced them into a zone defense for only the second time this year. At the end of the first half Mokan lead 30 - 21.

In the second half the young D1 Ambassadors group did a great job controlling tempo and taking much better shots. Methodically they whittled away at Mo-Kan and took a one point lead with three minutes left. From there the game was back and forth with 2012 guard Adam Perez hitting a three point shot with 15 seconds to go and tied the score. Mo-Kan did come down and miss a shot with four seconds to go but they were able to cause an unfortunate turnover which lead to a foul a two shot foul. Mo-Kan went one for two from the line. A hail mary shot at the buzzer was not meant to be and the D1 Ambassadors lost a tough one 62 - 61. The Ambassadors were lead in by 2012 guards Adam Perez from San Antonio Clark who had 14 and 2012 G Uche Ofoegbu of San Antonio Stevens who had 11. They were followed by 2012 Clark guards Nikko Maxwell with 8 and Carter Josephs with 6.

Today's morning game was an entirely different matter as 16 year old Connor Lammert, a 2012 6'9" post player from San Antonio Churchill was not hounded all game by two 6'10" and one 6'11" defenders. He had his way with the smaller Nebraska squad, giving them the business around the rim dropping 16 points and double digit rebounds.
2012 Connor Lammert of San Antonio Churchill, at 6'9" and only 16 years old is San Antonio's top post prospect. He combines three point range with nifty footwork arounf the cup to created an impact.
The San Antonio group opened up bracket play against a tough opponent in the Oklahoma Primetime. It was a tight game throughout with neither team able to generate a double digit lead. The D1 Ambassadors gutted out a five point victory over an the athletic group from Oklahoma City. Texas D1 took the lead with three minutes left on a 3 pointer from 2012 Adam Perez of San Antonio Clark. From there Perez and his San Antonio Clark backcourt mate 2012 Carter Josephs did an outstanding job of handling the full court pressure by the Primetime squad. 2012 G Joey Louwagie of San Antonio Johnson was also key down the stretch playing great perimeter defense which assisted in shutting down the great perimeter play of the Primetine group. 2012 Adam Perez lead the D1 Ambassadors with an outstanding game scoring 21 to lead the team.
Oklahoma Elite 55 Texas D1 Ambassadors-San Antonio 51
In what easily could have been a tournament semi final or final game the D1 Ambassadors lost a tough four point game to the Oklahoma Elite. The Elite squad out of Tulsa is one of the top groups around and have won big tournaments in 2011 including Team Texas' Next Level Baller in Dallas in April. The Elite are lead by 6'5" Jake Bullard a wing who is the #1 2012 target for the University of Tulsa.
This game was a battle from the start and the D1 Ambassadors struggled with their offense and found themselves down 11 at half. A three pointer off a set play to Adam Perez to open the second half cut the lead to 8 and from there it was game on. In an intense and physical game Texas D1 off a steal by Carter Josephs and pass for a three to high school running mate Adam Perez cut the Elite lead to 2 with a minute left. After another steal the D1 Ambassadors had a good look to take the lead with 20 seconds left; but 2012 Uche Ofoegbu's shot was just off. The Elite held on with Bullard hitting two free throws to seal the four point victory. Bullard finished with 24 and solid game showing why he is a mid major plus Division 1 prospect. Adam Perez had a tremendous second half as he moved to the two guard and hit five three pointers and finished with 21. Connor Lammert had a solid game and finished with 14. 2012 Uche Ofoegbu also chipped in with 10 points..
The D1 Ambassadors had a solid weekend finishing 3-2, and look to continue a successful season next weekend in Dallas and the Great American Shootout Summer Tip Off. They look to add to their depth with the return of San Antonio Player of the Year Cole Martinez and 6'5" 2A All State 2012 Aaron Ramirez from Santa Rosa from the Rio Grande Valley.
