Jonathan, (above..sporting his Coppin State gear) a 6'5" W started out averaging close to 20 minutes per game for Coppin State in the MEAC, with his high point total coming against Big XII opponent Colorado with 11 points in only his 3rd game of the season.
A promising freshman campaign has been cut short following season ending shoulder surgery. It's being handled by the Baltimore Ravens medical staff, so you have to figure he's in the best of hands. On a positive note, the NCAA has granted Landry a medical redshirt season. Amen to that.
The second dose of bad news for the family was a misdiagnois of San Antonio Madison freshman Trayvon Landry (below). For the last month he's been alternating between taking it easy, and then trying to push through with what was originally thought to be a groin strain. Well, it's a lot more serious than that. My memory's fading, but I seem to recall Papa Landry describing it as a hairline crack in the pelvis area....OUCH.
Let's hope that the next month is kinder to the two alumni of the Texas D-1 Ambassadors and that they both achieve a full recovery. Two of San Antonio's finest.
