Unlike Texas, the Louisiana model for the playoffs is a seeding system based on a formula that may be as confusing as the BCS. This process allows the top 32 teams to play in each classification.

In Texas, your playoff pairings are decided in advance based on your placement in District & Region. Something I do like about the Louisiana Model is that it does theoretically allow the best teams to meet in their Final 4. In Texas, there may be 2-3 teams from Houston or Dallas that have to beat it up on their way to Region with only one of them making it to the Drum for State.
