Twenty of the country's top summer basketball teams have gathered in Kansas City, playing in front of a packed house of college coaches, including Louisville's Rick Pitino. The Texas D-1 Ambassadors were placed in a pool of some of the marquee programs year in and year out. We knew we'd have our hands full with Mean Streets (IL), Howard Pulley (MN) and The Family (MI).

With most of the Big Ten coaches in attendance the two heavyweights traded long range three pointers until late in the half when the Ambassadors grabbed the lead for good. At times the lead was built to as much as 21 points as we cruised to the win.

Down by as many as 10 in the 1st half nd then by 7 in the 2nd, the D-1 Ambassadors kept their composure and beat a tough, talented group out of Detroit to win their pool and grab a bye in bracket play which begins tomorrow afternoon.
