Abreon "A.D" Jones of Leander Heads To College

Just got off the phone with Coach Lance Carter of Cloud County Community College (KS).  After many years of coaching with the Texas D-1 Ambassadors, assisting with Westlake & Lake Travis fall league teams and developing teams of young players the Big Fella is heading home.

Below: Coach Carter (L) was instrumental in the development of Big Gus Leeper (center) who has signed with Arkansas-Little Rock in the Sun Belt Conference.
Kansas is where Carter's family resides; he'll make nice money at Cloud, they'll pay for his Master's and they also take care of his daughter's tuition.  All in all, it's a nice package.  Carter previously played D-1 for Mercer University and coached at Fort Scout CC (KS). He leaves for Kansas on Monday, but not without taking a piece of Texas with him.

"Lance:  We appreciate all you've done for basketball in the Austin community, and for the Texas D-1 Ambassadors.  Best of luck in your new endeavors and your return to the college game."- Coach Max

2009 P 6'6" Abreon "A.D." Jones of Leander has been signed to his scholarship with Cloud County and will play in the Jayhawk Conference.  The former Texas D-1 Ambassador has faced lots of challenges but he's now graduated from Leander High and has a chance to live his college hoop dream.   Our hearty congratulations to you, A.D. for staying the course.
