TX Ambassadors 2016 Travel to Big Spring, TX for Harold Davis Shootout

The 6th grade team coached by Brenton Christian traveled to Big Spring, TX June 26-27 for the annual Harold Davis West Texas Shootout. The girls had an amazing experience at this remarkable event. Guards Mikayla Christian and Taylor Green along with post Mykiel Burleson were able to participate in a pre-tournament skills clinic for high school girls. They did well working with and competing against the older players.

The young 6th graders played up in the 7/8th grade bracket to go against some tough competition in order to prepare for Primetime Sports Nationals at the end of the month. In a back and forth competition, they lost by 5 points to the talented San Antonio's Finest 7th grade team. The girls did well against the disciplined 8th grade Dream Team. Up at halftime, they fought hard as the Dream Team took control of the second half for the win. They also played against the El Paso Sun 8th grade team. The Sun is an elite team that won AAU Regionals in Arizona for 8th grade. Although the Sun was an older and bigger team, the 2016 girls battled hard to the end. They improved their game during this tournament as Coach Anthony Robinson of Round Rock High School helped on the bench and with a video session. The tournament was a wonderful experience for these girls as they continue to grow as a team.
