Central Texas On A Tuesday Night

Liberty Hill  53      Austin Hyde Park  34
I let the word out that the next exciting young big to emerge from the Cen Tex is 2013 F 6'7" Blake Danielak.  He didn't disappoint in his 2011 debut versus a well coached HP crew under new Head Coach Marquette Wilkins.  Danielak had 16 points, 9 rebounds and 8 blocked shots as he roamed the paint.

Coach Barry Boren's Liberty Hill Wildcats will be super tough in 3A.  2013 Shane LaCaille is tough and effective.  He added 15 points and 5 dimes.  2012 Steven Graves is a deadeye shooter who you have to account for inside and out.  Three Wildcats who are depended on to provide tough D just got back from running in the State Cross Country Meet.  Nick Carzier, Robert Koepl and Blake Hare provide toughness and depth.

Pflugerville 65  Austin Westlake 57
In a game which was much closer than the final indicates, 2013 W Justin Moss and his high motor ended up giving the Chaps 20 points, while 2013 G Napoleon Onyeje added 13 and 2013 PG T.J. Williams had 10.  Westlake's Will Morse led all scorers with 24 points and 5 assists, and 2012 P Drew Wikelius chipped in 13. There's a new Head Coach in Pflugerville's David Raigosa but it looks like the same old same old Pflugerville juggernaut.

2013 W Justin Moss of Pflugerville

San Antonio Brandeis 79  San Antonio Brackenridge 50
2013 G Justin Graham gave Brack the business as he had 25 points in the lopsided win.
San Antonio Brennan  71  San Antonio Fox Tech  39
Brennan in only their second year of varsity play will be really tough.  2013 Johhny Azzinaro had 18, 2012 Christian Davis added 17 and 2013 George King added 14 as they cruised to the W
2013 W George King will have a great season

San Antonio Warren 92  San Antonio Antonian 54
2012 F 6'10" Jered Kite upheld his end of the bargain for Antonian as he scrapped for 14 points, but the rest of his team mates weren't up to the challenge.  The high octane Warren Warriors got double digit scoring from 4 players: 2012 Jordan Corona (22), 2012 Taurean Prince Waller (18), 2012 Jerell Ellis (18) and 2013 PG Marcus Keane (12).  This could be the Warriors year.
San Antonio Reagan 62   Cibolo Steele 59
2013 G Michael Williams led the way with 26 points in the win, while 2013 G C.J. Siples paced Steele with 20 in the loss.

San Antonio Christian nipped 4A power Kerrville Tivy in a huge win.  2013 Rowdy Winters led the Antlers in defeat with 13 points.
San Antonio Alamo Heights 61   San Antonio Central Catholic  46
Eventually a young Central Catholic team will be very good but right now it's Alamo Heights time.  2012 W Jeffrey Rodewald led the way for AH as he had 19 points.  Alamo Heights is big with 6'8" 2012 Shelby Lane and 6'8" 2014 Ben Lammers.
2012 Jeffrey Rodewald last year's District MVP will lead the Mules deep into the playoffs.
Notable Performances on the night:
2012 shooter Collin Tubbs had 16 to lead Dripping Springs over 62-54

The entire Harker Heights team as they drilled Austin Reagan 88-32

Cedar Park got 16 from 2012 Travis Guebert in their 53-43 win over Leander

Hutto 66  San Marcos 63.  2012 Tevin Bellinger led the Hippos to the win, but it was San Marco's Collin Hart who put up the numbers of the night with 37 points.
2012 G Collin Hart had 37 for San Marcos in thier loss
Austin Anderson beginning to fulfill my prophecy.  They beat a tough Round Rock McNeil team 86-77 behind their juniors: 2013 F 6'7" Alex Frame (25), 2013 G JohnGramlich (21) and 2012 Hayden Graham (19), a recent Air Force commit.
2013 Alex Frame continues to develop
Austin High nipped Georgetown 52-49 behind 2013 Patrick Strake's 19 points.  2012 G Michael Hardge had 20 in the loss for Georgetown.
