D1 Nation Alums Perform Saturday Night

Until high school basketball really cranks up I will continue to pay tribute and give updates to many of the alumni from the D1 Nation Family.

Jordan Jahr    Sophomore   G 6'6"     Lake Travis (TX)                                         Evansville
Jahr had 15 points and 3 rebounds as his Evansville Aces beat last year's Final Four team, the Butler Bulldogs to open his season. I received a phone call from proud Papa Sean Jahr who was docking his sailboat in Key West Florida.  He'll be up north next week to watch his son's Evansville Aces take on the Indiana Hossiers.
Deon Mitchell      Freshman  G 6'0"      Pflugerville (TX)                     Northern Iowa
Getting a start as a true freshman running the point is a rarity at the mid major plus level.  That's exactly what Deon Mitchell did tonight as he had 4 points and led the Panthers in rebounds with 6 from the PG position.
Cody Doolin        Sophomore G 6'2"     Austin Westlake (TX)             San Francisco
Doolin had 6 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists as USF rebounded from last night's upset to beat Northern Arizona at home.

Paul Garnica       Sophomore G 6'0"    San Antonio Lee  (TX)             Northern Colorado
After a solid freshman campaign where Garnica averaged 20 mpg  playing second fiddle to Devin Beitzel he opened his soph campaign with 14 points and 2 steals.
Seth Gearhart     Freshman   F 6'7"     Wilsonville (OR)                       Rice
Gearhart brought his game down from the Pacific Northwest and scored 5 points and had 2 rebounds in his debut in H-Town
Mark Nwakamma Freshman  F 6'6"   Leander (TX)                            Hartford
The Hartford staff has quickly recognized Nwakamma's work ethic and desire to compete as he jumped to 24 minutes played, 8 points, 4 rebounds and 4 blocks in the Hawks second game.

TaShawn Thomas Freshman F 6'8"    Killeen                                        Houston
Thomas had an impact college debut with 13 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks and 3 steals.
