I had a chance to take in the Freshman, and Varsity games tonight out at Anderson High School.
Freshman Game
Anderson 50 New Braunfels 44
This had to be the best freshman game I've seen all year. Anderson started out the gate a little slow but pick things up going into the second half. New Braunfels lead by 13 early in the third but the Trojans came storming back to take the victory down the stretch.
(L)( Pictured with D-1 Ambassadors) 2014 P 5'11 Sarah Nielsen lead the way for Anderson. Sarah gave the unicorns fits as she dominated the boards and had several key baskets to bring home the victory. Sarah is a two sport athlete with her academics well in check. Nielsen has nice size and a good skill set.
(R) 2014 C 6'2 Mary-Grace Bilby of Anderson has adequate size with loads of potential. Bilby was very impressive as she blocked several shots while snagging tons of rebounds. Bilby showed that she can attack the basket or take you down in the post. Bilby is continue to developing and should be a nice prospect in the class of 2014
2014 G 5'6 Jasmine Sauceda of New Braunfels was very impressive. Jasmine has good ball handling, passing, and shooting skills with aggressive play at the basket. Sauceda showed great hustle as she dive for several loose balls and played excellent defense. One of things that impressed me the most was her willingness to take it strong to the cup. Coaches you may want to keep an eye on this one as she is quickly emerging into a nice prospect in the class of 2014.
