As a guy who's coached almost 800 games, and God knows has watched several thousand high school games last night's affair between Kerrville Tivy & McCollum may have been the most atrociously officiated I've ever seen. It was almost impossible to evaluate anyone because the whistle was blowing non stop and one player alone (Tivy's Deron Belford) shot 17 for 29 from the charity stripe.
Kerrville Tivy's Deron Belford (Texas State) goes to the hole v San Antonio McCollum
Tivy led 24-22 at the half. McCollum had a chance to send the game to OT at the buzzer but came up short. The hardest working player in the game was McCollum Senio Brandon Ehrlich. The kid couldn't be bigger than 5'11" but he was solidly built and kept battling. He ended up with 10 points and 14 rebounds for the Cowboys.
Belford, the Texas State signee ended up with 29 points, while 2012 G Riley Miller 12 points including three buckets from behind the arc. The last one was the dagger.
