Dylan Elias put on a show in his last regular season varsity game, scoring 26 points in a lopsided win over Holmes. Of course, he hopes he has a long playoff career too prior to heading off to join fellow San Antonio alum Paul Garnica at Northern Colorado. Taft is a dangerous team, especially if they get the lead and can spread the floor and force their opponents to chase them.
Taft's Dylan Elias will soon be suiting up with Northern Colorado in the Big Sky Conference
San Antonio Clark 50 San Antonio Marshall 26
Clark got a freebie in their season ending game, emptying their bench and getting everyone involved. 2011 F Ansley Benjamin led the way with 8 points as the scoring was balanced.
There are a few games scheduled on Friday evening to sort out tie breakers. The most interesting will be San Antonio Reagan v San Antonio Churchill to sort out first place in their districts.
Stay tuned as I will handicap the entire 4A & 5A playoff situation Statewide over the next few days once all the matchups are determined. Last year I had an 82% success rate in picking the winners. One I missed badly on was San Antonio Churchill upsetting a talented Austin Westlake team. Obviously, it was a sign of things coming together for them. We'll see if the Chargers can catch lightning in a bottle two years in a row, although this time they have the pressure on them of being the hunted.
