Austin Westlake 83 Austin High 58
This game between heated rivals wasn't even as close as it looked. In a matchup of our rich kids can beat up your rich kids (lol..I know I'll catch heck for that one) Westlake came out hitting on all cylinders. They controlled the boards with 6'9" Gus Leeper blocking 9 shots. while 6'5" Carl Meyertons gave a strong assist in the robound category, along with every other aspect of the game. 6'6" W Conner Kenper had 28 points in only his second game back from ligament issues in his foot. Last game he also had 33 points and 16 boards. PG Deluxe Cody Doolin had 16 and 1o assists in what amounted to barely more than a half of play. Ryan Hall had 15 points for the Austin Maroons.
Pflugerville 48 austin Bowie 45
Up in The Ville it was a different story as Pflugerville had to hold off Bowie's late charge to keep home court advantage in this ultra competitive district . Pflugerville was led by 2009 PG Jonathan Garza, a Lamar University signee who had 12 points. Big 2009 6'8" Osas Ebomwonyi also a Lamar signee is rounding into shape for Pflugerville. He had 7 blocks and is getting stronger every game after coming back from a broken leg early in the season. Jarrell Turner continues to give the Panthers energy off the bench as he had 11 points. Pflugerville could not hit a free throw down the stretch, keeping the door open as Bowie kept fighting back. The rematch at Bowie in a few weeks should be a good one. 2010 6'4" Deandre Perry who can battle with the best of them down low led the Bulldogs with 15 points. Perry is getting recruited by many of the high majors in football as a WR. The Coach's son, Isiah Collier added 9 points as did 2010 G 6'5" Trey Lindsey for Bowie.
