Westlake jumped out to an early lead of 13-5 as 2009 G Carline Durbin led the Chaps. Durbin, a New Mexico State signee did an excellent job of not only shooting from the perimeter but also getting her teammates involved. In the early going Bastrop guard De Ann Brown kept the Bears close by knocking down 2 big shots to slow down the chaps who were on an 8-0 run.
