Killeen 84 Austin Lanier 55

I hustled from Harker Heights to Killleen High to catch the 2nd half of the host Roos game v. Austin Lanier. It's a packed house, and I mean PACKED. The entire student body is here as well as a large number of the adult community. few teams, if any have the house rocking in Central texas like the KHS faithful do. It's an electric atmosphere. Killeen is up 41-31 at the half.
Killeen Senior G Ja'Corie Baker is still shaking off the football rust, but he's a handful on the perimeter and a steadying influence in the backcourt. 2011 P Ta'Shaun Thomas runs the floor extremely well and finishes with authority in transition. He's dunking anything around the rim. 2011 G Anthony Taylor shoots and handles it well at the off guard and can bounce above the rim.
Coach Matt "Leo" Sandoval (our inside joke) of Austin Lanier has a group of Senior kids who he's really done a great job in moulding but they are simply overmatched against a bigger, faster and more skilled Killeen High squad.
Killeen smells blood and they're going deep into their bench, running and gunning to a big 75-46 lead after 3 quarters. I'm quickly beginning to like 2012 P 6'4" (looks taller and longer) Tevin Bartney of the Roos. He looks raw, but has loads of potential. Killeen Coach jason Fossett has emptied his bench giving everyone a chance to play. Class act.
