Austin High 61  Austin Bowie 54
As district play begins in earnest, not many games bring out the passion like Austin High vs. Bowie.  They play this one at the Burger Center, as fans have been known to get "testy" when they visit each other's campuses in the past.  It was just as billed, an exciting and emptional contest which was tied heading into the 4th quarter.

The first half scoring was dominated by 2011 PG 6'4" Eric McClellan who is one of the top unsigned D1 prospects in the area.  He had 18 points, including canning four from behind the arc.  His shooting kept the Maroons in the game early against Bowie's methodical offense which allows Senior Connor Robinson to get quality looks down low where he's really dangerous.

Senior sidekick Alex Reinking had 16 points, including grabbing a timely rebound and sprinting to the other end for a layup when Bowie was uncharacteristically slow in getting back on D.  Austin High took the lead on that play and never loooked back.  A big win for 3rd year Coach Andy Dudney's crew.

Austin St. Stephen's 65  Houston John Cooper 51
2012 W Parth Vakil is stepping up his scoring as he dropped 20 points to lead the Spartans.  Senior Sterling Green added 14 in the win.
2012 Parth Vakil went off for 27 points in the Austin St. Stephen's win

Georgetown 68  Round Rock Westwood 51
The Eagles dominated from the opening tip.  Westwood had no answer for 2012 PG Michael Hardge as he poured in 33 points.  Senior Logan Webb added 16 and also rebounded well.
2012 G Michael Hardge
Del Valle 66  Austin Westlake 53
Two fo the area's better bigs squared off  but it was Del Valle that was led by 6'7" Senior Karim York's (Santa Clara) with 17.   2012 P 6'6" Drew Wikelius added 17 for Westlake in the loss.

Pflugerville 84  Leander 68

Senior Deon Mitchell had another huge night as he is really beginning to assert himself offensively.  The area's most gifted guard and a Northern Iowa signee had 33 to lead the Panthers. 2011 P Mark Nwakamma added 28 for the Lions in the loss.

2011 G Deon Mitchell (Northern Iowa) of Pflugerville (left) & 2011 P Mark Nwakamma of Leander, two of the area's top prospects went head to head last night.

It took an extra session and 25 points from G Bellinger to take down Bastrop who had 25 from Jordan Roach (South Alabama) & 23 from Josiah Monroe (Texas-San Antonio-football).

Killeen 77  Waco University 45
Too much Ta'Shawn Thomas down low, on the boards, facing up etc as he gave University 29 points.
Houston signee Ta'Shawn Thomas
Manor 71  Pflugerville Connally 50
