Saturday Matinee: San Antonio Churchill 68 San Antonio MacArthur 64

As district play unwinds, San Antonio MacArthur might like to have a do over.  They roared out of the gate, putting great pressure on the ball and until midway through the 3rd quarter had a 15 point lead.  But as is the case many times, free throws can be a team's Achilles.  Mediocre free throw shooting could have easily pushed the game out to an insurmountable 20 point lead but Mac left a sliver of hope for the Chargers and they took it.
2011 Clark Lammert & 2012 Connor Lammert were rock solid for Churchill, while 2012 G Matt Gramling (right) of MacArthur was the most dominant player on the floor in today's match up.

The first lead of the game for Churchill came with 1:21 left to play in the game as 2012 P Connor Lammert hit a 10 footer, and then on the subsequent play grabbed a big board.  He finished with 10 points and 6 rebounds. Mac's 2012 G Matt Gramling led all scorers with 25 points. 5-10 free throw shooting kept him from hitting 30 as he was clearly the most dominant player in the game.

2012 G Scott Mammel led Churchill with 20 points but it was 2011 W Clark Lammert who brought the Chargers back in the stretch run, including one very nice "And 1" effort.  He was saddled with fouls most of the game and finished with 12 points & 4 rebounds.
