Killeen 92 Pflugerville Hendrickson 80

Two of the area's best Division One prospects in the Class of 2011 went head to head Friday night in Killeen as the hometown Runnin Kangaroos beat visiting Pflugerville Hendrickson 92-80. The decision in this one went to 2011 Post Ta'Shaun Thomas who nearly posted a triple double . He had 26 points, 13 rebounds and 8 blocked shots. The 6'7" Thomas (below) is a bouncy post who also has wing potential as he's able to face up and runs the floor extremely well.
Hendrickson's 2011 W 6'3" Jalen Washington had 23 points in the loss. He's long, has a great first step, nice range on his shot and is tenacious on the boards. Both Thomas and Washington will suit up in a few weeks with the Texas D-1 Ambassadors. Also, 2012 P 6'5" Tevin Bartney of Killeen and Hendrickson's 2011 PG Jalen Harris will also suit up for D-1.
I'll be at the big Lake Travis-Killeen game Tuesday night as LT's Jan Jernberg goes for his first outright district championship. Hard to believe that a program consistently as good as his has not achieved that goal. A talented Kileen team led by their Coach Jason Fossett has other ideas I'm sure. Should be a barn burner. I received a call from one of the refs who'll be doing the game. He's coming all the way from the San Antonio Chapter as the two coaches refuse to let Austin or Temple refs involved. lol...Let the games begin.
