Austin High School Round Up: Tuesday, February 8th

Del Valle 75  Austin Akins 66
Karim York (Santa Clara) was too big down low as the 6'7" F gave Akins 31 points.  Malcolm Canada (Central Arkansas) led Akins with 19.

Killeen 77  Stephenville 56
6'7" Ta'Shawn Thomas (Houston) drilled his opponents with 41 points and also pulled in 20 rebounds and 4 blocks.
Killeen's Ta'Shawn Thomas will bring his talents to the Houston Cougars next year.
Bastrop 69  Hutto 67
Senior Josiah Monroe had 22 points to lead the Bears.  Monroe, a Texas-San Antonio football signee is also a defensive stopper.

Pflugerville 74  Leander 61
Deon Mitchell (Northern Iowa) led the Panthers with 21 points.  Leander's unsigned senior, Mark Nwakamma also had 21 in the loss.

Austin Bowie 65  Austin Westlake 43
Bowie ran out to an early lead, ending up with three players in double figures.  They were led by Seniors Connor Robinsin (19), Jake Varela (17) & 2012 Mareik Isom (17).

Georgetown 75  Round Rock Westwood 69 (OT)
Georgetown needed OT to overcome a determined Westwood squad.  Senior Logan Webb continues his torrid scoring pace as he had 27, while 2012 G Mike Hardge added 15.

Marble Falls 70  Cedar Park Vandegrift  44
Senior Shane Minnick led the way with 17 points for the Mustangs
6'9" Shane Minnick scores and brings toughness to Marble Falls

Austin High 64  Austin Anderson 46
Senior PG Eric McClellan had 15 points as the Maroons remain undefeated in district play.

Austin Lake Travis 53  Dripping Springs 44
Senior P Chris Dash had 13 points & 2012 Griffin Gilbert added 13 in the Cavs win.

Austin LBJ 57  Austin Reagan 55
Senior Robert Lee led LBJ with 15 points, keeping alive hopes of another district title.  The Jags have won the district title for more than a decade.  Senior Brandon Golden had 20 for Reagan.

Harker Heights 64  Copperas Cove 49
Heights clinched it's first district title in 5 years as Senior Royce O'Neale had 21 points and 16 rebounds.

Killeen Ellison 64  Killeen Shoemake 52
Senior Devonte Brown (Indiana State) scored 15 points & Jaleel Williams added 14 and 11 boards as the Eagles kept alive a playoff clinching streak that spanned 17 years in a row.
